Our History

JADEF is Non-Governmental Organization that was founded in 2004 under the leadership of young Ugandan graduates from Makerere university targeting educational, health, agricultural, improvements in social economic status of the vulnerable groups especially women and needy children in Uganda.

The Foundation was officially launched by the President of Uganda His Excellency Y.K Museveni on the 19th Sept 2011. Our being is to achieve community transformation and empowerment through education, Health, economic empowerment and Information.

JADEF works with, and facilitates programmes with the rural communities Uganda majorly Eastern region in the districts of Katakwi, Kaberamaido, Soroti, Kumi, Amuria, Bukedea, Serere and Ngora. The Head Office is in Ngora Township, about 18 km, west of Kumi District Headquarters and the Liaison Office is located in Kampala, Development House, Parliamentary Avenue Plot 16-18


The major aim of JADEF is to contribute to the transformation of the livelihoods, in a sustainable manner, of the rural, marginalized poor through community integrated, participatory development approaches, focusing on direct service delivery, community empowerment and capacity and competency building in the thematic areas of Health, Education, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, governance and Human Rights.
